Robin was born in Edwards, Mississippi and has evolved from a popular performer, to entertainment executive, to business man and custom home builder in the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex in the state
of Texas. And is the first African American to grace the cover of Builders Architecture Magazine, not Once but has been honored three times in the last forty years.
If Robin “says” something… you can take it to the bank. He’s a determined “results oriented” professional who has been molded and refined by his Christian character and spiritual belief.
In his beginning show biz years, Robin sang on London Domain records, and was noticed by HB Barnum and swiftly taken to Capital Records, along with Lou Rawls. He’s traveled with Dick Clark’s Caravan of Stars, appeared on America Bandstand more times than he can count or remember, and considered Issac Hayes, Diana Ross, Mary Wilson, and Cyndi Birdsong (The Supremes), James Brown, Ike and Tina Turner, Brenda Holloway, and Patti Labelle all friends.
He moved to Dallas in the 70’s and was signed with Stax Records, by Issac Hayes and Al Bell. By the early 80’s he decided he wasn’t going to sing any more and went to work in a new field of work. He became a custom home builder after a brief apprenticeship with Jesmer Custom Home before striking out on his own. But music was still calling to him. He found himself writing music for other local artist which lead him back to partnering up with his long time friend of 60 years HB Barnum. And a new friendship forged with another fantastic Dallas Based musician Norman Williams. Which gave birth to RNB music production and RNB Gospel Records.
