As American Music goes through the stages, "sometimes tortures" of evolution, we dedicate our talents and energies to maintaining the integrity that it was founded on.

American music that we know today, came from a mixture of European, Afro strains mixed in with the Native American chants and reconstructed and built upon by Slaves. From whence the mixtures came new melodies, rhythms and beats. Gospel to Jazz, to Rhythm and Blues, to Pop, to rock, Hip Hop, to Rap to whatever it is the marketplace wants to name it, If the music makes you feel it, and if it touches you in any way.

Throughout these progressions, or as some would say now, "Di-gressions", there are a couple of strong elements that are present when Soulful Spiritual music penetrates the Soul of any human being.

Those elements start with the artist. Whether black/white, tall or short, bald, fat, skinny, there's something in a voice that touches the very core of a person. When that voice touches you, you become a fan. There are certainly differences in vocal textures between Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Louis Armstrong, Bing Crosby, Barbara Streisand, Sam Cooke, Taylor Swift, Marvin Gaye, Shania Twain, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, Al Green, and I could go on and on, but I think you get the drift.

Then there's the song and the production. Whether it is a guitar, bass and drums of BB King or Johnny Cash or the full orchestration of Celine Dionne or Pavarotti, the music catches your attention, it does something to your soul, and you're hooked.
